Pensions & Investments
The Pensions market is going through unprecedented change with the gradual decline of defined benefit and a struggling stock market, leading to higher demand for candidates in the more specialist areas. With a trillion pound of pension fund money up for grabs, there is a sudden shift towards de-risking, buy-out or buy-in in the insurance industry. Consulting firms, life companies and specialist providers are taking advantage of the present situation, increasing the diversity and ingenuity of the services they are currently providing. This transformation has led to changes in investment advice and provision and there is a greater need among banks, asset managers, life companies and consulting firms for closer communication and collaboration to service this pension fund money.
This recent turmoil has created a greater demand to reduce the liability of large company pension schemes, resulting in an immediate need for an effective solution. Though the asset management firms and banks are not as active, there still is a strong demand among consultancies for CFA’s and Actuaries with investment experience.
As an ageing population is a major issue being faced today, professionals with technical competency and consulting experience working in pensions or investment will always be in demand.
