We sat down with Nick for an insightful Q&A session....

Can you provide a quick overview of your background and how you got started in executive search recruiting?

I began my recruitment career at a FTSE 250 recruitment firm, where I built a strong foundation in talent identification and placement within the tax and treasury sectors. I later transitioned to executive search, focusing on complex finance roles.

How would you describe your approach to recruitment?

Building strong, personalised relationships with both clients and candidates is crucial. I take the time to understand their goals, motivations, and concerns, ensuring that I can make the best possible match.

What are some emerging trends in Tax & Finance, and how do they relate to recruiting?

The rapid pace of digital transformation is a significant trend. Technologies such as cloud-based accounting software, automation tools, and artificial intelligence are enhancing efficiency by streamlining processes and minimising manual tasks. This evolution heightens the demand for professionals proficient in these technologies, making it crucial for recruiters to identify candidates with strong digital skills.

What attracted you to Hanover?

Hanover has a stellar reputation in the industry for its expertise and successful track record in executive recruitment. The firm’s commitment to excellence and high standards was a significant draw for me.

What made you excited about joining the Hanover team?

The collaborative and supportive culture at Hanover is something I highly value. The emphasis on teamwork and knowledge sharing creates an environment where everyone can thrive and deliver their best work.
