Case Study
Developing potential in the Finance function
The UK Finance Director of an international financial services provider asked Hanover to support and develop two high-potential members of the Finance team.
Working closely with the FD, we defined the critical behaviours required for success at the level above their existing roles.
This provided them with clarity and helped leaders in the business to shape their thinking about how demands differ and how best to support individuals who make the transition.
Participants first completed the Lumina Spark personality profile.
They then undertook a behavioural interview with an experienced Hanover consultant to explore how they do what they do in the context of more senior roles and their career aspirations.
Participants and the business received comprehensive feedback.
For the participant, this took the form of a one to one feedback and coaching discussion with their consultant.
This helped them to understand key messages and identify a small number of practical development actions to fucus on.
Key stakeholders in Finance and the business received information about how best to support the participants and how to invest in their ongoing development in the most impactful and relevant way.
We are now discussing how we can continue to support participants’ development through coaching.
