Case Study
Hanover was entrusted with sourcing the Head of EMEA Wholesale Distribution for a leading Investment Management firm.
This role was entirely new, necessitating a deep understanding of competitor structures and successful asset management stories for the pitch process. As the largest UK-headquartered asset manager with over £1 trillion in assets, the European coverage model was still in its infancy, with only two representative offices in Frankfurt and Milan.
Due to Brexit, the successful candidate needed to be based in Europe, have prior experience with a global asset management firm, possess team-building skills, and demonstrate a proven track record in asset gathering.
The candidate also needed to be willing to travel extensively to existing offices and explore additional coverage locations, such as Switzerland.
Hanover showcased several competitor structures to demonstrate our expertise and market knowledge. We identified the most suitable candidate based on experience, personal brand, and location. Additionally, we independently referenced candidates and presented client and peer feedback during the shortlisting process.
Country-by-country market mapping provided valuable industry insights, enhancing the overall process.
In 2021, the first Head of EMEA Wholesale was successfully onboarded.
